What we collect
We collect only what you give us, or what is needed to run the page you asked for.
- Demo, quote, trial and checklist requests. Name, work email, company, phone if you add it, industry, country, what you asked for, and any message or checklists you send.
- ROI and pricing tools. The numbers you enter, such as inspections per week. These stay in your browser unless you ask us to email them.
- Essential site storage. Your cookie choice, and short-lived form details so a demo page can keep what you already typed.
- Analytics. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may collect device, page, approximate location and interaction data, including session recording. This runs unless you turn it off.
- Support chat. Crisp may collect your chat messages, device data and a chat cookie. Chat loads unless you turn it off.
We do not sell personal data.
Why we use it
- To reply to your request (demo, quote, trial, checklist digitisation, ROI follow-up). Legal basis: steps towards a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering a business enquiry.
- To run this website (remember cookie choices and carry form details between pages). Legal basis: legitimate interest, and storage that is strictly necessary.
- Analytics and chat to understand how the site is used and to offer live chat. These run unless you turn them off in .
- To keep records and meet the law where we must. Legal basis: legal obligation.
We do not use your demo or quote details for unrelated marketing unless you have asked us to stay in touch about that request. You can tell us to stop at any time.
Who we share it with
We use service providers who only process data for us:
- Web3Forms, to deliver form submissions to our team.
- Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, for Google Analytics, unless you turn analytics off.
- Microsoft, for Clarity session recording, unless you turn analytics off.
- Crisp IM, for the chat widget, unless you turn chat off.
- Our hosting and content providers, so this site can load.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on an approved tool such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, plus the safeguards those providers publish.
We may also share data if the law requires it, or if UPDAT is sold or merged. Where we can, we will tell you first.
How long we keep it
- Enquiry and demo records: usually up to 24 months after the last contact, unless you become a customer or we must keep them longer.
- Cookie choice: 12 months, then we ask again.
- Form handoff and ROI numbers in your browser: only for that visit.
- Analytics and chat data: for the periods set out in the Cookie Policy.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask us to:
- access your data
- correct it
- delete it
- restrict or object to how we use it
- receive a copy (data portability), where that right applies
- turn off analytics or chat, without affecting use of this site
